Interrupting the Pressure Effect: Protecting What Matters at Work and in Life

Are you on the express train?

Are there times when the pace of work and life leaves little opportunity to stop and notice the impact on your wellbeing, your relationships or your capacity to be at your best?

Pressure is a reality of work, business and life. Yet we don't always recognise its effects until we are already feeling them or the people around us are.

This practical and engaging session explores what can happen within us and between us when stress builds and offers strategies for responding to its effects. Together, we will look at our warning signs, the situations and interactions that can activate us and the default reactions we can fall into without even realising it. We will also consider how our reactions and those of others can feed cycles of tension, misunderstanding and blame.

By recognising these patterns earlier, we have more opportunity to interrupt them. We will build greater awareness of often unconscious patterns and create more choice in how we respond. We will also explore practical ways to use conversation and connection as a layer of protection, supporting our wellbeing and relationships while helping us communicate most effectively and perform at our best in work and business.

Drawing on her experience as a communication and conflict specialist, leadership coach, mediator and therapist, Tulsi van de Graaff will guide the conversation and invite participants to share their own experiences, challenges and strategies, drawing on the collective wisdom and experience in the room.
