The CBD Sydney Chamber in collaboration with The Business Alliance present this Expert Panel & Virtual Networking event around how local government has and continues to supports SME's in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are delighted to have Cr. Jess Scully, Deputy Lord Mayor of The City of Sydney and Dr. Michelle Byrne, Mayor of The Hills Shire Council to discuss the importance of small business to their communities.
Both Councils have worked hard during this crisis to gather input from both business and local chamber representatives to assist develop programmes that will support the survival of their local business economies.

Cr. Jess Scully
Deputy Lord Mayor of The City of Sydney
In 2016 Jess was elected as a Councillor for the City of Sydney, where she is the co-chair of the Nightlife and Creative Sector Advisory Panel and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Panel, chair of the Curatorial Advisory Panel, and a member of the Audit Risk and Compliance Committee.
In 2019, Jess was elected as Deputy Lord Mayor for the City of Sydney. She is also the Deputy Chairperson of Council’s Corporate, Finance, Properties and Tenders Committee and a member of the Central Sydney Planning Committee.
Dr. Michelle Byrne
Mayor of The Hills Shire Council
Dr Michelle Byrne has led a distinguished career in both the public and private sectors.
Michelle was first elected to The Hills Shire Council at the 2008 Local Government elections and by 2011 had been elected Deputy Mayor.
She was re-elected to the role of Deputy Mayor in September 2014 following two years as Mayor and, in 2017, Michelle was officially elected as the first-ever popularly elected Mayor.
