Event Description:

Thinking differently enough these days?

It's important for everybody in business to constantly be thinking differently.

But have you considered how improvisation techniques can assist you communicate and work better with those we work with, and even those at home.

Too much lockdown doom and gloom? Seeing too many people's heads and not their bodies? Improvisation@Work is here to tackle that.

We've teamed up with Eric Vigo of rebootr to demonstrate how a series of structured games can help.

What is Improv?

Improv (or Improvisation) is an outcomes-focused session where you:
  • feel more of a positive state of mind
  • collaborations become easier to create and do
  • forge higher-quality connections
  • dump stress you don't need
  • enter and maintain 'The Flow State' a lot easier.
With improv, you get more tool to listenaccept and build better better with others at work and home. And it's fun!

Relax: Let's Break the Lockdown Blues

Welcome to a psychologically safe Zoom space. We let our mental hair down, and enjoy each other's company and our spontaneous creativity.
On one hand, we'll seriously give and take imaginary things, and on the other, humorously deal with problems of the world. All the while, accepting what each other says no matter what, adding to it and not blocking each other. That?s right, a judgement free zone!
By the end of this session, the group will:
- taste the Zone in real time,
- potentially learn a new language (Gibberish), and
- find it easier to listen to others without a distracted mind.

Team size?

We are looking for a group of 15 participants.

You can come from different businesses or nominate a couple of people to play from the same business.

Eric Vigo - Founder & Facilitator, Rebootr is your Improvisation Session Leader

Eric Vigo been doing theatre improvisation (dance and theatre) since first sampling Theatresports in Melbourne in 1997. From 2002, he learnt movement improv in Sydney and travelled the world practicing and learning it til 2009. For a while, Eric taught improv at a CBD Meetup (now cut by Covid). Seeing how improv changes mind states and has a positive effect on where they work, Eric is partnering with others to open improv up to more people and places. Especially since the changes businesses have made due to Covid (e.g. WFH), there is now a greater urgency to try something different and fun that helps their staff and colleagues through these rough times as quickly as possible
